Paul Salt Solutions Limited is an engineering consultancy designed to support organisations with competence or resource shortfalls in initial airworthiness, certification of aircraft changes, project management, design and finite element analysis (FEA).
It was established in 2018 by Paul Salt, a Chartered Engineer with 25 years of experience and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Paul is a highly capable, process-oriented and detail-focussed professional, having held roles of increasing levels of autonomy, responsibility, knowledge and authority within the aviation and automotive industries.

Initial Airworthiness & Certification
Paul Salt Solutions has extensive Office of Airworthiness experience for European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part-21 Subpart-J Design Organisation Approval (DOA). In the event of a non-negotiated withdrawal from the European Union (or no-deal Brexit), this knowledge is also transferable to DOAs that will hold a Part-21 Subpart J approval with UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority).
We can provide certification project leadership or support related to airworthiness aspects for major design changes (Supplemental Type Certificate or STC) and minor design/repair changes to Large Aeroplanes and Rotorcraft, including establishment of Type Certification Basis and realistic Certification Programmes for Type Designs.
We can support all aspects of the responsibilities of an EASA/CAA DOA’s Office of Airworthiness, including writing procedures for changes to Part-21 and providing training for DOA staff (EASA Part-21, Paragraph 3.1.4 of GM No 1 to 21.A.239(a)).
Independent Verification (Compliance Verification Engineer)
Paul Salt Solutions can provide CVE function for the independent verification of compliance data with respect to changes or repairs to ATA Chapter 21 Air Conditioning Systems (ACS) as part of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) on Large Aeroplanes.
Once approved by the DOA responsible for the change/repair, the CVE activity includes approval of all compliance documents necessary for the verification of compliance with the applicable requirements and approval of technical content of approved manuals, including revisions (EASA Part-21, Paragraph 3.1.3 of GM No 1 to 21.A.239(a)).

Design and Analysis
With extensive experience in aerospace design and various Finite Element Analysis (FEA) applications, Paul Salt Solutions can provide support for your organisation’s design and analysis needs.
This includes, but is not limited to, sheet metal fabrication, metallic castings and machinings, plastic injection mouldings, lean design and future obsolescence. Paul Salt Solutions can also support multiple CAD and FEA software applications, from Catia v5 and I-DEAS/NX to Elfini/GPS and Moldfow.
