Initial
Airworthiness
CERTIFICATION & COMPLIANCE VERIFICATION
Despite the UK’s exit from the EU on 31st January 2020, the future relationship between the UK and EU is still to be negotiated during the transition period. This includes the potential scenario that no UK-EU aviation safety agreements are in place at the end of the transition period on 31st December 2020. In any case the rules on initial airworthiness will be unchanged, irrespective of whether the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) remains the regulatory body or the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) takes on the responsibility.
As such, Paul Salt Solutions are well placed to support your Part-21 Subpart-J needs: Whether it is the management of certification projects and activities, the writing of procedures for EASA or UK CAA Design Organisation Handbooks, supporting audits or providing training, our experience working for and with small DOAs provides up-to-date access to industry knowledge and opinions.
Paul Salt Solutions has previously fulfilled the key role of Chief of the Office of Airworthiness for a small EASA Part-21 Subpart-J Design Organisation Approval (DOA), as well as leading or supporting major design change (Supplemental Type Certificate or STC) and minor design/repair change projects with various DOAs whether Type Certificate Holders, STC holders or DOAs with the privilege to approve minor change design data.
We are experienced in all aspects of the responsibilities of a DOA’s Office of Airworthiness, from writing procedures for changes to Part-21 through establishing a Type Certification Basis and realistic Certification Programme for Type Designs and changes, to providing training for DOA staff.
As part of the process defined by the Design Assurance System, it is required by EASA that all substantiation data demonstrating compliance to certification requirements must be independently verified.
Paul Salt Solutions can provide experienced Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) support for changes applicable to Air Conditioning Systems (ACS) as part of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) on Large Aeroplanes.
Within the network of Paul Salt Solutions are other organisations and consultancies who can assist with your initial airworthiness design or repair change needs for certification or compliance verification, should your requirements be outside our scope of expertise, see our network and links page here.
