Paul Salt Solutions has extensive design and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience in the aerospace and automotive sectors, and can provide support for your organisation’s design and analysis needs.

Having worked primarily with designs incorporating sheet metal fabrication, metallic castings and machinings and plastic injection mouldings, we have experience in working with industry standard Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages, such as Catia v5 and I-DEAS/NX.

A lean philosophy is employed to designs with due consideration to cost affected by materials, components and manufacturing processes, and their potential future obsolescence.  The pending obsolescence of chromic acid anodising (due to European REACH regulations banning hexavalent chromium in surface treatments) is such an example.

With several years of experience using various FEA packages to simulate stress & modal analysis and injection moulding of plastic components, we are experienced with the nuances of FEA packages and how to get the best out of them.  Best practice approaches for meshing and validation of models by manual calculation where possible can be provided, based on experience using FEA tools such as I-DEAS/NX, Catia Elfini/GPS and Moldflow.
